The Quinta
Quinta Castanheira is a recently renovated traditional Portuguese smallholding positioned in a gentle valley at the edge of a tiny village. Our location affords great tranquility and privacy, with the sole exception of the occasional passing shepherd!
The Quinta features two houses; one belonging to the owners, Jemima and Wesley, and one that serves as a bright and airy sanctuary for holidaying visitors. All are welcome to enjoy the flower-framed courtyard with seating areas and a sizable bar equipped for dining and barbecues. A deck extends towards the infinity swimming pool, with sun loungers and a great view of the smallholding’s resident cows.

The bar at Quinta Castanheira sometimes becomes a social spot in the evening, with an international mix of local friends dropping by for a visit. We have plenty of space for holidaymakers to mingle if they wish to, or enjoy a private evening in one of the property’s many outdoor seating spaces if that suits them better.
